1 Corinthians 6: 12-20

Our God is not sweet. He is holy, just, and jealous for His people. He is also gracious and loving and was willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice to buy us back. In Paul’s letter to the Corinthian church, Paul highlights the depth of God’s sacrifice and His jealousy. This week we talked about how God’s jealousy makes Him despise our sin. While it’s easy to pick and choose the sins that we are offended by, all offenses against His holiness grieve the God and King of the universe. In this portion of his letter, Paul highlights the difficulties that accompany sexual sin and how it not only offends God, but also hurts our physical bodies. While many struggle and have pain in this area (whether by choice or by choices of others), God is gracious and forgiving and wants to cleanse us of all sin through the blood and body of Jesus. The simple question is, will we repent and submit to His kingship? In order to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthian 6: 18), Lead Pastor, John Reeves, gave us three action steps: 1- Tell God the truth, 2- Tell yourself the truth, and 3- Tell someone you trust the truth.
