1 Corinthians 1:1-9

Before diving into the meat of 1 Corinthians, John Reeves spent some time refreshing us on the historical context of Paul’s letter. During his missionary journeys, Paul met many folks and saw hundreds of people come to faith in Jesus. The church in Corinth was started when Paul and a couple of God-fearing people began telling their neighbors about Jesus. In this letter, Paul begins by reminding the church in Corinth of their faith – how God provided for their salvation, but also for their spiritual growth on this side of eternity in each other. In the matter of nine verse, Paul mentions the name of Jesus eight times – reminding the Corinthians of the goodness of God through Jesus. Where can you talk about Jesus this week?

If you would like to begin a conversation about following Jesus or would like to talk more about how your story and the Gospel connect, we would love to hear from you. If you have questions, please feel free to ask them here.
