1 Corinthians 14

We looked at another difficult passage in Paul’s letter to the Corinthian church. Ultimately, chapter 14 is meant to convince the Corinthians (and us) that our spiritual gifts are not about us. They are meant to build up and make the Church better. Paul specifically addressed the gift of tongues in the Corinthian church, but it could have been directed at any of the gifts. When Christians cease to use their gifts to build up the Body and begin to use them to lift themselves up, they are out of balance. Lead Pastor, John Reeves challenged us all to desire to use our spiritual gifts to make the local church better.

Do you know what your spiritual gifts are? Have you made Jesus the King of your life? If you would like to begin a conversation about following Jesus or would like to talk more about how your gifts and the local church connect, we would love to hear from you. If you have questions, please feel free to ask them here.
