1 Corinthians 16

We closed out our study of 1 Corinthians this week by looking at chapter 16. Specifically we looked at Paul’s comments to the Corinthian believers about money. It is clear from Paul’s language in the first few verses of this chapter that the Corinthian church did not struggle with their generosity. Instead, Paul’s language reveals some simple, yet practical, instructions on how to manage their generosity as a church. In light of this passage, as well as others throughout the New Testament (2 Corinthians 8 and 9, etc.), we looked at the expectation of Christians to be generous with the resources that God has entrusted to us.

Do you struggle with generosity? If so, Lead Pastor, John Reeves, encouraged us to begin to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal how we can live more generously. As a church we have an enormous opportunity to be a generous blessing to our neighbors, our city, our state – and even the world – if we are willing to live out Jesus’ example of generosity.

If you would like to begin a conversation about following Jesus or would like to talk more about how your gifts and the local church connect, we would love to hear from you. If you have questions, please feel free to ask them here.
