1 Corinthians 5:1-13

Do you have a real friend in your life? One that will tell you the truth, no matter how painful? Do you  have someone who loves  you enough to confront you with sin issues – first in private and then with witnesses – in order to help you grow in Jesus? If you don’t, you need one. Paul’s words to the church in Corinth in the 5th chapter of 1 Corinthians could be spoken to the universal Church today. We have a tendency to be so enamored with our own prideful ways that we miss the sin in our midst. Or we’re so in love with the fact that we are tolerant that we forget to call sin what it is. Paul’s words this week challenge us to engage in real community. To put ourselves under the authority (and the covering) of the local church and to grow in our faith. What do you need to do this week to make sure you grow toward Jesus? Who do you need to give permission to speak truth into your life?

If you would like to talk more about how your story and the Gospel connect, we would love to hear from you. If you have questions, please feel free to ask them here.
