Aftershock: Week 3
We closed out our series this week by looking at the return of Jesus. We began the series by looking at the earthquake that occurred at the resurrection (and the one that happened at the crucifixion). Those earthquakes invited us to “come and see” the empty tomb and to “go and tell” about our risen Savior. In Week 2 we looked at the earthquake at Mt. Sinai that showed us God’s holiness and how far we are from His perfection. With those in mind, we looked at the earthquake that will occur when Jesus returns to make all things new. While various denominations within Christianity view the order of events at the end of days differently, everyone can agree on this fact: Jesus is coming back. The question for us is: are we ready?
Do you eagerly await His return? Do you have peace that you will escape the wrath of God because of the sacrificial death, burial and resurrection of Jesus? Or, are you afraid that when He returns you will still have to endure His wrath as an enemy of God? Today is a great opportunity for us all to evaluate what our response is to the good news that Jesus will return and bring with Him God’s righteousness and peace to redeem all of Creation.
If you would like to begin a conversation about following Jesus or what His return looks like, we’d love to hear from you. You can reach out to us at RADIUS@radiuschurch.org.
