John 3:1-15

For the next several months we will be walking through the life and teachings of Jesus as told to us by someone who walked with Him, the Apostle John.

This week, we looked at the beginning of John chapter 3. In it, Nicodemus comes to Jesus at night. While there are a variety of possible reasons why Nicodemus came to see Jesus (political coup, genuinely curious, etc.), Jesus quickly cuts to the heart of the matter with Nicodemus and challenges him, not on his pedigree (Nicodemus was a member of the Sanhedrin – the Jewish ruling council – and a Pharisee), but on his ability to understand and see the Kingdom of God. In this opening part of the chapter, Jesus tells Nicodemus that he must be “born from above”. The question to us, as American Christians, could be the same – are you born from above? Or posed another way, “do you believe”? With so many who are familiar with this chapter and these verses, it is a refreshing activity to look once again at whether or not our convictions and faith intersect a relationship with Jesus.

If you would like to begin a conversation about following Jesus or would like to talk more about how your story and the Gospel connect, we would love to hear from you.
