Psalm 22

This week we looked at Psalm 22. Psalm 22 is an oft-quoted section of Scripture. The opening verse: “My God, my God! Why have you forsaken me?” was quoted by Jesus from the cross. Devoid of the context in which David wrote the Psalm, it can appear to be a Psalm of lament. Reading to the end though, it becomes apparent that this is a Psalm of victory. Jesus is about restoring and redeeming – much like he did with David’s apparent loss in battle. Jesus’ restoration begins with our repentance (turning from sin toward Jesus) and belief.

If you would like to begin a conversation about following Jesus or would like to talk more about how your gifts and the local church connect, we would love to hear from you. If you have questions, please feel free to ask them here.
