Our God the Redeemer

We closed out our study of the book of Ruth this week. Lead Pastor, John Reeves, picked up from last week where Ruth began executing Naomi’s plan to redeem the family line by pursuing Boaz. Being a righteous man with the ability to redeem Elimelech’s family line lives out his righteousness and generosity in the way he handles the situation. He typifies Jesus in how, though he had every right to turn Ruth away and dishonor her (she was a foreigner, he was a wealthy man of great reputation, etc.), he instead deals with her with grace and generosity. From their marriage, they have a son named Obed – who becomes the father of Jesse, who becomes the father of David. David would become King of Israel and is a direct forefather to Jesus. Out of a broken but righteous, Moabite woman and the redemption of her family line by a righteous and generous man, God is made a way to redeem the entirety of humanity through his righteous and generous Son, Jesus.

If you would like to begin a conversation about following Jesus or would like to talk more about how your story and the Gospel connect, we would love to hear from you. If you have questions, please feel free to ask them here.

The Life of Trisha Kirkland

This week we had the opportunity to hear from RADIUS Church Partner, Trisha Kirkland. Trisha shared her story of how God brought her through the pain and struggle of wanting to be a mother but struggling with infertility. She told of how that struggle finally brought her to a place where she could ‘untie’ God’s goodness from her ability to have biological children. Brian and Trisha are now proud parents of a daughter and son, both from the country of Colombia. Her story was a great example of how God refines us through difficult circumstances. Would you like to share your story in the future with our church? Let us know here.

The Life of Elliott Caldwell

This week we also had the opportunity to hear from Elliott Caldwell. He told us of how Jesus was with him from a very young age – even when Elliott was being emotionally abused. Through the pain of his upbringing and some very humbling moments through college, Elliott began to see the greatness of Jesus. Now, newly married and growing in his faith, Elliott talked about how being a part of the RADIUS Church family has pushed him to be a better husband and a better follower of Jesus. His is a great story of how being in community can help us be better disciples of Jesus. Would you like to share your story in the future with our church? Let us know here.
